I am excited about the upcoming year and all that I'll be doing in my community, across the country and with Free the Children. The experience in competing and becoming Miss Teen Canada-World has been fabulous and I know this next year will be unbelievable.

By exhibiting a positive attitude, I hope to encourage others especially young women, that anything can be accomplished while leaving your true self intact. Becoming Miss Teen Canada-World will not only allow me to share my own experiences and achievements, but also gain valuable skills in order to be a better member of humanity.

Joanna is an ambitious seventeen year old, currently in her last year at Marshall McLuhan Catholic Secondary School. She has received Academic Excellence and is on the Honour Roll. She excels at sports and creative writing. Her community service includes, being a part of the public library program “Leading To Reading,” organizing a fundraiser that raised $6,000 for tsunami victims, and serving meals to the homeless at the “Good Sheppard." Joanna is excited to be attending university in the fall in pursuit of a career in the medical field.
