I am excited about the upcoming year and all that I'll be doing in my community, across the country and with Free the Children. The experience in competing and becoming Miss Teen Canada-World has been fabulous and I know this next year will be unbelievable.

I would like to motivate teens to recognize their full potential and to realize their dreams. With hard work and determination, anything is possible at any age. With the help of Miss Teen Canada-World, I will be able to build a foundation that will lead to achieving my personal goals while still being a positive role model.

Originally born in South Africa, Renette has lived in Canada for nine years. She carries with her the experiences and memories of her country but she is proud to say she is a Canadian. Renette, a small town girl from Daysland, Alberta, graduated from her local high school with honours and awards in track & field. She recently moved to Calgary to fulfill her dreams of becoming an architect at the University of Calgary. Renette is an accomplished dancer who has received numerous dancing awards. One of her most memorable achievements is being chosen to dance at the Disneyland theme park in California.
