Iona Macleod 's goals...

“I believe that people have the right to be who they want to be regardless of age, gender or race. Being Miss Teen Canada World would give me a voice to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves, and bring attention to those causes that are dear to my heart.”

Iona Macleod 's bio...

Iona has successfully graduated from Grade 9 with her honors tie and was the recipient of the Junior School Art Award.  Iona hails from the historic town of Windsor in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley.  She loves art and not only volunteers her time at the local art gallery, but when the time allows, enjoys painting unique and beautiful oil landscapes. She has even sold a few of her paintings to a small and appreciative group of collectors across the country. In addition to a love of art, Iona enjoys an active lifestyle and attacks all sport with determination and enthusiasm, whether on the soccer pitch, volleyball court, ski hill or on the running track.  Iona’s personal determination and sense of justice are a guiding force in her life and will almost certainly continue playing a part in her development into womanhood. Aside from her personal skills, Iona’s passion and focus is directed at both environmental and social equality issues. She recently represented her school as a delegate at the Global Awareness Youth Conference after which she implemented an environmental club called SOS (Sustain our School), whose mandate is to reduce their school’s carbon footprint. Iona has also taken a personal interest in a project in Malawi run by a previous teacher of hers called “ Malawi Girls On The Move ” which helps young Malawian women achieve self-sufficiency through education.
