I am excited about the upcoming year and all that I'll be doing in my community, across the country and with Free the Children. The experience in competing and becoming Miss Teen Canada-World has been fabulous and I know this next year will be unbelievable.
I'll be blogging about my experiences so stay tuned as my journey begins!

Julie Anne Nieuwhof's goals...
I attend the University of Prince Edward Island, majoring in english, I hope to eventually become a teacher. I would love to teach children, and create a positive influence in their lives. I want to help children realise at a young age, that beauty is not on the outside but the inside. Becoming Miss Teen Canada-World would be an amazing opportunity for me to help children in third world countries, through working with Free the Children, as well as reach out to children here in Canada; letting them know they are beautiful because of their personalities.
Julie Anne Nieuwhof's bio...
Julie Nieuwhof is a beautiful, brown eyed, brown haired, 5’8”, well put together, driven, and fun to be with young lady. She grew up in the beautiful farm lands of Prince Edward Island (PEI). Ever since she was little, she has always lived in South Rustico. Growing up on a farm meant that whenever her family needed help, she was one of the people they called on. Although working on a farm does not help the beauty side of Julie, playing in dirt, lifting heavy stones, and picking rotten potatoes, it did help her realize how much family means to her. No matter what, you can always depend on your family. To this day she works on the farm, whenever needed.
She has donated over 600 hours of her time, volunteering for her churches local girls club, GEMS as a counsellor for younger girls, inspiring them to be the best that they can be, inside and out. She graduated from Bluefield High School with honours, allowing her to receive an entrance scholarship into The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI.) Julie has just finished her first year at UPEI, majoring in English. She is working hard to achieve her Bachelor of Arts degree. She then plans on attending The University of New Brunswick, to receive her Education degree. After receiving both degrees she plans to be a teacher for either grades 4-6, 7-9 or 10-12.
On her free time Julie loves to hit the slopes of the local ski park, Brookvale, and snowboard. She enjoys playing outside with her dog, running, walking on the beach with her boyfriend, enjoying the gorgeous views of PEI and most of all making a difference in other people’s lives.
