I am excited about the upcoming year and all that I'll be doing in my community, across the country and with Free the Children. The experience in competing and becoming Miss Teen Canada-World has been fabulous and I know this next year will be unbelievable.

I want to encourage and inspire today’s youth. I want to help them gain the confidence and independence to accomplish anything they believe in. I know that Miss Teen Canada-World can help me make this happen.
Somaria Balram's bio...
This 16 year old was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Somaria is currently a dancer of 13 years and has completed various ISTD Dance Examinations. Along with dancing her passions include working with children and being a role model for today’s youth. Somaria attended the Millie Lewis American Modeling and Talent Convention in Orlando, Florida along with the Canadian Student Leadership Conference in London, Ontario. She is an active volunteer within her community and loves travelling. She plans to continue dancing and has a career goal as a pediatrician.
