
Judges
Miss Teen Canada-World strongly believes that each finalist in the competition deserves fair and equal consideration. Therefore, we select those individuals who are the best in their field and they are chosen from a variety of fields such as Modeling, Television, Magazines, Pageantry and more. There will be up to six judges scoring in a compulsory categories and each one will be looking for specific qualities that reflect the individual’s leadership, poise, commitment, presence and behavior.
Meet Our Judges
Lorraine Zander – Founder, Faze Magazine
Lorraine has spent the last decade creating a positive and inspiring magazine, Faze, for young women .Faze offers its teen readers an insightful look at current affairs, health and beauty, entertainment, careers, fitness, technology, and much more.
Lorraine has a Bachelor of Science degree in Exceptionality in Human Learning from the University of Toronto, and is a graduate of the Ryerson Magazine Publishing Program.
As an expert in the youth space Lorraine has appeared on Much Music, Entertainment Tonight Canada, Global TV, CTV News, Slice TV, Canada AM and CBC Radio. She has also been featured in The National Post, The Ottawa Citizen, The Vancouver Sun, Flare and many other publications.
Lorraine also spends much of her time working hands-on with teenagers through focus groups, co-op placements, internships and volunteer programs, and is often invited to speak in schools and at various events.
Maureen Fenn (Moe)
Maureen is a seasoned expert in the art of guiding people from all walks of life. She shines when it comes to helping them to find their place in the world through counselling, motivating, and coaching.
Maureen had great success as a founder and co owner of a prominent Toronto based recruitment firm for many years. After 16 years, Moe’s next career had her matching people once again. Only this time in the role of the Executive director of the largest modeling and acting academy in North America. Not one to give up on enhancing peoples lives, she became the leader of a successful team of relationship consultants – (who matched romance seekers and life partners) across the GTA.
Moe joined the team of career matchmakers at DWP in 2008, bringing with her a colourful persona, joie d’vivre, and contagious enthusiasm.
Aside from her obvious flair for style and fashion, Moe has enjoyed time as a baseball player, drag racing competitor, an active volunteer counsellor with the breast cancer society, and a motivational speaker to college students!
In addition to this busy schedule – Maureen is often found on the side lines!!! Still motivating, still coaching – supporting her young grandchildren’s hockey “careers’.
Angeline McDonald – Owner, Bells & Bows Bridal Centre.
Angeline McDonald is an accomplished businesswoman, bridal store owner, and premier supplier of pageant, graduation and bridal gowns. She has been in the bridal industry for 15 years. Angeline recognizes the contributions pageants make to women’s lives worldwide and that “glamorous has no limits”, and therefore travels internationally. Delegates look for the most fabulous gowns on the planet to take stage with and the gowns worn in pageants are trendier and more cutting edge for 2011 then ever before.
Special highlights for Angeline include being the official wedding planner for Wedding Wish 2008-09 (Global TV) as well as astounding stage shows across provinces, including the winning title of “Best of the Best 2010 Bridal Centre” for Southern Alberta. Angeline’s hallmark is providing brides, young women who are graduating and pageant delegates a gown of their dreams. As the Regional Director for Canada in the Association of Bridal and Formal Attire Retailers (ABFAR), Angeline works with manufacturers and retailers to implement ethnical and responsible standards for the operation of full service bridal and social occasion boutiques. In addition, this organization works to educate clients on the benefits of patronizing full service bridal and social occasion stores.
Serving on local entrepreneurial organizations, Angeline has shared her vast experience on compliance committees as well as with strategic planning committees. Numerous awards have been given to Bells & Bows Bridal Centre for their participation and support of the Off-Campus Education Program and work experience programs within the store and a proud sponsor of Leaders of tomorrow.
Angeline believes that true success is driven by the passion for a dream that cannot be denied. It is carried to its goal by a focus that is unrelenting. It is driven by actions that will not be contained, and Driven by a force that knows no failure. Angeline believes that one should “be your own kind of beautiful and let your dreams take flight”
Jessica Martins – Canadian Director, MMG Model, Talent and Celebrity Management
Jessica Martins is the Canadian Director of MMG, an International Model, Talent & Celebrity Management Company and Agency located in Toronto, New York and Vancouver with affiliates in Los Angeles. MMG’s current roster ten of America’s Next Top Models, Lisa Nargi, Model Winner of Project Runway (Season 4), five Abercrombie, Holister and American Eagle Models , two American Idol Finalists, Canadian Olympic Gold medalists, as well as up and coming children and teen talent that appear on Disney episodics. Prior to establishing MMG Canada, Jessica Martins was an accomplished model and actress.
MaTTi Gidllevich
MaTTi has been in the Canadian Fashion industry for 16 years now. He started from the ground up in one of Canada’s busiest agencies, and slowly worked my way through the ranks. From Commercials to Television and Children to Teens. MaTTi has been involved in building the careers of some of Canada’s most recognizable faces – Jessica Stam, Heather Marks and of course Coco Rocha. MaTTi currently works with Elite Model Management (Toronto) Inc. where he Scouts, Develops and books on the women’s board. He travels all over North America attending conventions and events, looking to find the next new face for Elite.
Ainley Kerr
A muse to many Canadian fashion designers, Ainsley Kerr is a passionate supporter of Canadian fashion and a perennial presence on local and national best-dressed lists.
A social darling with a signature smile, she is most often found canoodling at Toronto’s most exclusive parties or sitting front row during fashion week wearing looks from the season ahead. A known contributor and commentator on Canada’s fashion and entertainment industries, Ainsley also coordinates events for Fashion Group International and focuses her philanthropic efforts towards fundraising for Rethink Breast Cancer.
