Angie Mellen's bio...

When Angie was four years old, her grandfather gave her a nickname, “the girl with the million dollar smile”. While true, this does not convey anything about the person behind the smile. Angie is actively involved in her high school as a member of Grad Council, class historian at her upcoming graduation and participant in the soccer academy. Angie has attained honours throughout high school and junior high. While in junior high, Angie received the S. Bruce Smith Award for overall achievements in academics, athletics, leadership, and school spirit and the Physical Education Award. Angie plays on a rep soccer team, and works out regularly. Angie has also faced immense challenges; in 2010 she was diagnosed with anorexia, suffered from depression, and ended up hospitalized. But, she’s a fighter; she battled back and got her weight to a healthy level. Angie knows life is precious. Angie will attend the University of Alberta in the fall; her goal is to become a psychologist or psychiatrist. She looks forward to helping people achieve good mental health. Angie wants to be a positive role model for young women. She wants them to know that true beauty is more than skin deep.
