Courtney has just finished her first year as a University of Manitoba student. With a direct entry into Engineering, she hopes to become a Mechanical Engineer and has a desire to obtain her Ph. D. She graduated in 2011 from Collège Garden City Collegiate with French Immersion above 90% Honors and a bilingual diploma. In the upcoming University year, Courtney plans on becoming a student leader, on the Engineers Without Borders team and a new member of an SAE team. Her spare time is spent running, boxing, being a goalie in Ringette, reading, writing and volunteering. Courtney's platform is raising awareness for environmental issues. She hopes to use her new title to educate others on the fact that this planet is the only one we have. Small changes can make a huge difference, and she believes that it is time for others to take notice. After being crowned Miss Teen Manitoba-World 2012, Courtney was in shock. It meant that she was chosen as one of the top teens in Manitoba and she hopes that with her drive, determination and passion, she can walk away from this year's reign with many amazing memories, opportunities and new friends. To have the chance to follow in the footsteps of the present and past MTC-Ws is a dream come true!
