Nadia Afshar's bio...

Nadia is an active and positive 17 year old who is in the process of graduating from Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School. Born and raised in Vancouver BC, she couldn’t imagine calling anywhere else home. Nadia spends her free time with family and friends, reading, baking, taking pictures and cheerleading. She feels very fortunate to have found her passion in cheerleading so early in her and has been a competitive cheerleader for approximately 6 year. She recently participated in her programs level 6 team and for the second year in a row she was captain on their senior level 3. Nadia’s leadership and dedication for her own team extends to the whole program where she has been volunteering and working with children for 4 years. Nadia also enjoys volunteering for a variety of different events in her community, from the Vancouver Children’s Festival to being a French speaking host for the APPIPC; she loves the variety because she feels like there’s something different to gain from each experience. Nadia will be continuing her studies somewhere close to home either majoring in psychology or potentially choosing to go into photography, however she would like to travel as much as she can in between studies as she feels like the best way to learn is by experiencing new things in real situations.
