Miss Teen Canada-World Announces its National Search for 50 Semi-Finalists

May 05, 2009

Toronto, ON:  The Miss Teen Canada-world Pageant is the only Pageant that conducts provincial competitions to select National finalists and has the rights to send its winner to represent Canada at the Miss Teen World Pageant.  Organizers are searching the country for fifty Canadian teen girls to compete for the title of Miss Teen Canada-World in nine Canadian cities this spring.  This final competition will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at the John Bassett Theatre at the Metro Convention Centre in downtown Toronto.

Girls aged 13 – 19 from across Canada will compete for the coveted title and the largest prize package awarded in a Canadian teen pageant. Over $25,000 in cash, prizes, and scholarships will be awarded to talented aspiring teens.

This year, “Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful” is much more than slogan for Miss Teen Canada-World.   Miss Teen Canada-World provides the opportunity to be an ambassador for Canada and its mandate is to empower youth to take a leadership role in their communities.  Girls will develop new interests, become a positive role model, and contribute to projects in their community by raising funds for FREE THE CHILDREN.  The girls will also be focusing on academics, building self-confidence and learn about all of the qualities that enable a young woman to become a leader of tomorrow.   The search began in Ontario early in 2009 and started to travel across Canada on February 22 to Calgary, Alberta and March 8th to St John’s, Newfoundland.

FREE THE CHILDREN will be the official charity of choice for the MTC-W Pageant and National Delegates will embark on a fundraising campaign in their respective communities to raise funds for FREE THE CHILDREN.  All delegates will be required to raise $400 as a prerequisite into the National MTC-W Pageant scheduled for July 25, 2009.  The pageant goal is to raise $20,000 by the end of the year.
